My first post: everything has a starting point.
How will virtual worlds impact our lives? I've always contended that the next generation of discovery and innovation on the web will truly shrink the planet immeasurably. Virtual Worlds can encompass all that we love about social media. From the social bookmarking sites MySpace and Facebook (think about that a bit), to dynamic social feeds like Twitter; virtual worlds allow us the capability to explore these phenomenons in a much more visceral manner: bringging people together not only based on their published criteria, but with the flexibility to collaborate in run time. Can we blend all the wonderful aspects of IM, Skype, Facebook, Twitter.....and what will we call it? Web3.0 seems to be the exclusive domain of the symantic web proponents. How about Web3D? Wikipedia seems to be lacking anything credible for the term. So....let's explore shall we?
